Easing of lockdown restrictions
Weddings and civil partnerships are now able to take place with up to six people. From Monday 12 April, this number will rise to 15.
How Covid-19 is affecting our Register Office
Following government advice to reduce the spread of Covid-19, we have closed the Shute End civic offices to the public, appointments for registering deaths will continue by appointment only and over the phone.
Birth registrations and birth declaration are now being carried out. Call 0118 974 6000 to make an appointment, or you can book online.
Appointments for notice of marriage or civil partnerships for ceremonies in the next couple of months are also continuing. These can be booked by calling 0118 974 6000. Appointments cost £35 for each person. However, if your notice is no longer valid because of Covid-19, you can request a free notice appointment.
The copy certificate printing service is still continuing. Express (next day) replacement certificate service and standard 14 day service is available.
Update on citizenship ceremonies
Citizenship ceremonies are being held. If you have received your letter from the Home Office, please call us and we will invite you to a ceremony.
