Lavell's Lake Local Nature Reserve

Lavell's Lake is a 9.5 hectare devoted to nature conservation. It is managed in partnership with Friends of Lavell's Lake, a registered charity.

Wildlife

Lavell's Lake has a rich and varied bird population. It is nationally known for its migratory and resident species.

See a variety of:

  • Waterfowl
  • Dragonfly
  • Amphibian ponds
  • Wader scrapes
  • Tern islands
  • Meadows

     

Access to the site is restricted, but responsible visitors are encouraged to make use of the 2 public bird hides.

Dogs are welcome

Please respect others by keeping your dog under control and preventing them from fouling public areas.

Access

Access is possible from Sandford Lane, Woodley, or from Dinton Pastures Country Park.

Parking

Parking costs:

  • 50p for up to 1 hour
  • £1 for 1 to 4 hours 
  • £2 for longer than 4 hours

 

The car park is open from 8am to 6pm. You can pay in the multi-activity centre which is just across Sandford Lane opposite the car park.
