We want to help support community celebrations to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
See below to find out how to orgainse an event safely and easily:
How to arrange a street party
- First, complete our event notification form, below.
- If you want to close a road for your party, complete our street party application form. Make sure you understand the conditions and return that application form to our Traffic Management team. We do still need to approve each closure so that we can inform the emergency services and ensure that an appropriate alternative route is available and also clear of works/other parties etc. We won't charge for street closures during the Queen's Jubilee long weekend. Last date for receipt of Street Party Application Forms will be Monday May 14, 2012.
- You will need an alcohol licence if you intend to sell alcohol. For more details read our temporary events page
Visit the Communities and Local Government website, the Street Party website and the Directgov website for more advice about how to organise a street party. Read the Health and Safety Executive's Health and Safety Guide.
Please note
- All rubbish collections will remain the same but may be earlier than normal. Please don't put out seating, etc. for any parties until rubbish has been collected (if this is your designated day)
- Rubbish must be put out in official blue waste sacks or black recycling boxes. To find out more, please see the new waste changes website page. Alternatively, waste can be taken to either Longshot Lane or Smallmead Recycling Centres
- Some roads maybe unsuitable for a party due to emergency access for ambulances, bus routes, important through-roads, etc.
- We do ask you to tidy up and bag your own rubbish (please see above).
