Street cleaning programme

We have a street cleaning programme for all adopted roads, pavements, paths and cycleways. This varies from daily cleaning to cleaning every 6 months. We also run an annual community litter pick.

Dead animal removal

We remove dead animals that are the size of cats or larger which are causing a hazard on roads. Use or highway fault report form to report a dead animal.  

Dog waste and litter bins

Dog waste doesn't need to be separated from normal waste. You can bag it and leave in any council-owned litter bin (except in play areas) or bag it (or put into a sealed container), take it home and put it in your bin.

Overgrowing vegetation

Use or highway fault report form to report overgrowing vegetation.

It's important to make sure that your trees and hedges don't grow out onto roads or pavements, as it can be dangerous for cars and pedestrians. Read our overgrowing vegetation factsheet to find out more about your responsibilities.
