Filming on the Public Highway - Responsibilities
When filming on the highway, there are a number of responsibilities that companies and individuals have before filming can take place. Wokingham Borough Council does not charge companies wishing to film on the highway, although there are costs associated with working on the public highway. For more information about filming on the highway please read the fact sheet below.
Maintenance and inspection standards
All roads and footways in the Borough are regularly inspected. The frequency of inspection depends on the category of road and its location. To find out more read our Highway maintenance fact sheet .
Maintenance work can be split into 2 areas:
- Reactive maintenance - generally low cost and funded from our revenue budget, includes filling potholes and repairing damaged kerbs
- Planned maintenance - major maintenance schemes such as resurfacing of carriageways and footways, largely funded by Central Government with the priority identified through our assessment programme.
Government funding
