Composting

We would encourage you to compost as much of your household waste as possible.

Up to 30% of your household waste is organic matter all of which can be recycled in a compost bin such as:

  • Kitchen scraps
  • Vegetable peelings
  • Grass cuttings
  • Garden weeds and leaves

Composting will:

  • Make your home a greener place
  • Reduce the build up of harmful waste
  • Provide good soil for your garden
  • Create a valuable resource which can help reduce the threat to non-renewable resources

To find out more about composting call 0845 077 0757 or visit the Recycle Now website.

We also run a free garden waste scheme. See our garden waste website page to find out more.
