Council lights

Place and Neighbourhood Services maintains the following types of lighting:

Highway lighting including illuminated signs and bollards
Amenity lighting for parks and other recreation areas
External housing department lights, for example lamp columns in our housing parking areas and footpaths
Car park lighting

We are responsible for over 18,346 lighting units and associated electrical installations in the Borough, including:

15,090 lamp columns and lighting bollards
281 wall or bracket mounted lights eg. mounted on buildings, telegraph or electricity poles
65 subway lights
1,764 illuminated signs
42 pedestrian island beacons
24 zebra crossing beacons
95 school warning flasher units
780 illuminated traffic bollards
37 vehicle activated signs - VAS signs
168 feeder pillars and wall cabinets

In addition to the above we also maintain traffic signals.
