Changes to Reading Bus Services from 13 July 2009

Bus on street
  • Service 111 (Reading - Spencers Wood, with some journeys to Riseley): the Monday to Saturday daytime service, which is operated commercially by Reading Buses, will be withdrawn

  • Service 72 (Reading - Aldershot) operated by Countywide Travel will have an improved timetable which will largely cover the withdrawal of the 111

  • 111 evening and Sunday service (operated under contract to Wokingham Borough Council) will continue unchanged pending re-tendering later in the year

  • Service 112 (Reading - Shinfield - Spencers Wood): Monday to Friday off-peak service will be withdrawn.  Although this leaves Hyde End Road unserved, most of it is within convenient walking distance of half-hourly services in Basingstoke Road (72) and at Shinfield (144)

  • Services 63/64 (Reading - Woodley circulars): reduced from 20 minute to 30 minute frequency in Monday to Friday off-peak and on Saturdays

  • Service 9 (Reading - Shinfield Park): reduced from 10 to 12 minute frequency in peak hours

  • There are other minor revisions to times on services 9, 20/21, 22 and 62

For full details of the changes visit the Reading Bus Services website.

Changes to Bus Service 152 from 8 June 2009

  • Please note from 8 June 2009, the 152 Bus Service at 0750 from Bracknell to Wokingham and Emmbrook School will be retimed seven minutes earlier to meet school starting time.

Changes to bus services from 18-20 April

  • New bus 152 will link Wokingham and Binfield, continuing to Bracknell and Winkfield about every 2 hours on Monday to Saturday, with buses conveniently timed for schoolchildren and for shop and office workers in Wokingham

  • Schooltime buses will serve St Crispin's and Emmbrook schools morning and afternoon and The Holt in the morning

  • The 152 will be operated by First Berkshire under contract to Bracknell Forest Council.  The 152 also has some improvements funded by us.  Other than at schooltimes, buses will continue from Broad Street via Glebelands Road and Milton Road back to Broad Street to provide a direct bus back from town

  • Morning peak bus in from Emmbrook village, starting from Commons Road at 0835

  • Bus 9 now only runs between Shinfield Park and Reading town centre and station, the peak hour frequency is improved to every 10 minutes whilst evening and Sunday buses now run every 30 minutes

  • Bus 18 from Lower Earley via Royal Berkshire Hospital and Reading town centre to Tilehurst and Calcot, is replaced by bus 22 and follows a simlar route to the town centre then runs to Caversham Heights instead of bus 9.  Like the 18, the 22 will run every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime

  • Bus 21 from Lower Earley to Reading will have improved evening and Sunday services

  • Bus 62 from Woodley via Royal Berkshire Hospital to Reading has some changes to its timetable and to the Addington Road area route but still serves the hospital stops - the level of service remains unchanged
