Sports pitches

Winter season

Pitches will be available from the 1st weekend in September until the last weekend in April. There is normally a break where no fixtures are played for Christmas and New Year. Exact dates are provided in the application pack at the start of each season. The Parks and Open Spaces team will make the decision if the end date can be extended depending on weather conditions over the course of the season. Teams can play evening matches to ensure that league games are completed by the end date.

Winter season allocations

All teams have to re-apply when allocations come around each year for grass pitches and the astro pitch. Allocations for the winter season take place at the end of July with teams being notified of decisions in August. Details should be sent out around late May to teams and application packs sent out in June to teams who have requested them. We will make every effort to accommodate you in your preferred location and quantity of pitches requested, but we can't guarantee the same as what was allocated to you in previous season, or that you will get a pitch allocation for this season nor that it will be your first choice if you do get one. Ad-hoc

Our winter season regulars will be allocated a specific pitch for the season upon allocation and will have priority on the pitches. Please complete the book a single pitch form, and ensure that you have included at least one way to contact you on the form if you want to request a pitch. Summer pitch booking

We normally have 2 summer pitches and the astro pitch available at Cantley Park from the beginning of June/July till the 3rd week in August. Our summer pitches are available to all; any manager or player from a team can make a booking by email (or phone after the first week). Attendants are on site and will set up the 2 pitches with nets and flags. Fixtures will be provisional and the hirer will be provided confirmation of booking once payment has been processed.

Summer pitch booking applications

Applications normally open at 10am on a May bank holiday and it is email only for the first week. Teams will be notified of full details each year via email on how to make requests, prices, and restricted dates. Summer pitch time slots

Per pitch: There will be one slot available each night during the week for 2 hours for a Kick-off between 6pm and 7pm. On weekends there will be three fixed slots available each Saturday and Sunday; 10am to 12 noon, 12 noon to 2pm and 2pm to 4pm. There is an additional slot available to junior teams only from 3.30pm to 6pm on weekdays provided that this does not interfere with other events that may take place during the summer. The astro pitch is available to book as well during the summer from 9am to 10pm. We are more flexible and bookings don’t have to be on the hour like in the winter season.
