Educational Psychology Service

The Educational Psychology Service exists to help pupils who have special educational needs such as emotional or behavioural problems, as well as providing specialist advice to the council.

Using psychological principles, the team uses a number of techniques, including advice on improving literacy skills, role-playing to improve social skills and responses to problems such as bullying. They work with the community to help schools and families assess and provide support to school-aged children with special educational needs.

Primarily psychologists work with the individual child, but they also work with groups of children, parents and carers, teachers and other education staff, as well as with courts, health and social services.

Some older documents are attached  below in case schools are still using them.
