Job Evaluations

The need for a job evaluation may arise through a number of different changes, for example restructuring of the department e.g. office, the need to cover new tasks or functions or succession planning within the school and the need to develop employees.  Headteachers and line managers should remember that if a vacancy arises it is not always best to recruit a like for like replacement.

The job evaluation process is supported by the HR Consultants, the process is as follows:

  • Manager compiles the new/revised job description

  • Manager sends documents to the Schools HR Consultant

  • HR Consultant completes job evaluation within 10 working days
  • Outcome is given to Headteacher/ line manager
