Some core training is applicable to all services and required to secure and maintain statutory compliance. This training is centrally funded.

Other training is operational, whereby Services must bid for their requirements. This training is funded by the Service/s. Please check with Corporate Health and Safety for clarification.
Some in-house training can be booked on WISE, e.g. Health and Safety for Managers Training, and group courses such as Risk Assessment - sometimes held at other venues, e.g. Easthampstead Park, and delivered by Bracknell Forest.
All Managers are required to attend half-day Health and Safety training. These courses can by booked on WISE. Dates for these courses are publicised by Corporate Health and Safety throughout the year.
Other training
Other training can be organised on a need basis by discussion with managers and Corporate Health and Safety - for example, First Aider training to become a nominated first aider, for which an allowance is paid. This involves a 4 day comprehensive training course involving a test of practical skills.
If you are in a corporate building, Facilities will advise on requirements for first-aiders. If not in a corporate building, needs should be discussed with managers. There should be replacement volunteers where gaps ocur, but additional requirements need to be justified. Further guidance can be found in the Health and Safety manual on the grapevine.
Fire warden training
Fire Warden training can be organised by Corporate Health and Safety - in corporate buildings there should be consultation with Facilities. If not in a corporate building, please discuss with managers. Replacement wardens are required, but additional requirements need to be justified. Contact Corporate Health and Safety for further details.
Sufficient Workstation Assessors are also required within Wokingham Borough Council. Please discuss requirements with Corporate Health and safety.
