As well as the guidance on the page, the following documents are provided at the bottom of this page:

Information Sharing

Front-line practitioners who provide services to children, young people and families often have to make decisions on sharing information with other practitioners about those they are involved with.  This calls for professional judgment on a case-by-case basis.

Uncertainty about the legal framework can sometimes hamper effective information sharing.  The following materials have been produced to provide practitioners and their managers with guidance on when and how to share information legally and professionally.

Common Assessment Framework

For information regarding the Common Assessment Framework please access the guidance which can be found here:  http://www.wokingham.gov.uk/family/services-children/common-assessment-framework-forms/?locale=en

National Guidance

The following national guidance supports local good practice:

Information sharing: Guidance

Information sharing: ‘How to’ Guides

Information Sharing: Training

Wokingham Children’s Services has an Information Sharing E-learning module which all staff including schools can access and use.  The training takes up to 30 minutes and you can complete the course in one go or in stages.  The course includes real life case studies and a test at the end of the training to check your understanding.  The link, username and password are all provided below.

Privacy Notices (formerly Fair Processing Notices)

Guidance about Privacy Notices for pupils is usually released by the Department for Education (DfE) in August each year.  It is a legal requirement under the Data Protection Act to issue Privacy Notices to all new pupils aged over 12 and to the parents or carers of all new pupils in schools, early years settings, alternative providers and pupil referral units.  It is also a legal requirement to issue Privacy Notices to new staff in the schools' workforce.

Attached below you will find a copy of the guidance for schools and information about Privacy Notices, together with examples of the Privacy Notices.

If you have any queries regarding Privacy Notice guidance, please contact us via email to: perf.data@wokingham.gov.uk
