School governors are members of governing bodies, whose purpose is to help provide the best possible education for pupils at their schools. Their main function is to raise standards, monitoring progress against the targets they set.

Parent governor representatives
Under the School Standards and Frameworks Act 1998, we have to elect 2 Parent Governor Representatives from the Parent Governor Body to serve on the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
Following elections in May 2010 we are pleased to confirm:
- Duncan Arrowsmith as Parent Governor at Addington School
- Emma Wells as Parent Governor at Hawthorns Primary School
Their term of office will be for 2 years and will end on 30 June 2012.
