How to apply for a nursery school place 

Applications for schools with Foundation 1 (F1) places in their nursery or foundation stage unit should be made directly to the school concerned. Information regarding the free entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds and a list of providers of free early learning is available on our free early learning page. 

How places are allocated 

Allocation of places at community or voluntary controlled schools with F1 provision will be in accordance with our model policy which can be adapted by schools. Some voluntary aided schools with F1 places have set their own arrangements, listed below.
