Transfer to Junior School into Year 3

If your child is moving to junior school into year 3 in September 2011 you will be required to complete an application form distributed by your childs Wokingham Borough infant school in November 2010 or apply online when the website opens on November 29, 2010.

If you are resident in another local authority, you are required to complete the application form available from that authority.  If you are applying for a Wokingham Borough junior school, your application will be forwarded to Wokingham Borough Council for consideration, however we recommend that you read the Parent's Guide to understand how places will be allocated.

If you child currently attends a primary school and you wish to apply for a Junior School, please contact the School Admissions Team for an application form or complete the schools interest form.

The deadline for applications is January 14, 2011 and you will be sent notification of a school place on April 12, 2011. 

Timetable

• November 2010 – application packs distributed

• November 29, 2010 - website open for online applications

• January 14, 2011 – closing date for applications and deadline for providing evidence of where you live to meet designated area and other criteria

• April 12, 2011 – parents sent notification of school allocated

• April 26, 2011 – deadline for parents to accept the place offered

If you wish your child to move to a primary school this will be considered as an in-year admission.  Consideration will firstly be given to any junior school applied for as part of the infant to junior transfer and you will be notified by April 12, 2011 of the result of that part of your application and if necessary ie if you have higher ranked preferences for a primary school, consideration will be given after the summer half-term in line with our admissions policy on in-year admissions for any higher ranked primary school.
