The information below is intended for use by residents of park home sites.
Grants
At present the Council does not offer home improvement grants or renovation grants, but does offer Disabled Facilities Grants. These are means tested grants available for the adaptation of a property for the benefit of a disabled person. Recommendations for a grant in the first instance are likely to come from the applicant's occupational therapist.
Please note that we will take account of the general age and condition of the mobile home. It is unlikely that grant assistance will be available for homes that are considered to be beyond economical repair.
Complaints
If you have a complaint concerning a mobile home park you should always contact the site owner or manager initially and allow them a reasonable amount of time to remedy the situation.
If the site owner or manager is reluctant to resolve the problem, you should then contact our Environmental Health department who may be able to investigate or advise you further.
Park rules and other matters which are not covered under the site licence are strictly an issue between the resident and site owner/manager. The Council is unable to act on behalf of residents or site owners/managers in such circumstances. If you are unable to resolve any issues, you can ask a court or arbitrator to make a decision if both parties agree. You should consider seeking advice from a solicitor or your local Citizens Advice Bureau before taking such action.
