Recycling black boxes

What can I recycle in a black box?

What you can recycle in your recycling box:

  • Plastic bottles - without bottle tops
  • Steel and aluminium drink and food cans
  • Newspaper and magazines
  • Cardboard packaging - but not polystyrene
  • Cereal packets - but not the plastic lining
  • Telephone directories and Yellow Pages
  • Paper catalogues, envelopes and junk mail - but not the plastic lining
  • Soap powder and frozen food boxes
  • Recycling can be mixed


Cardboard must be broken down to fit in the black box. Large amounts of cardboard can be taken to the tip or collection can be arranged through the bulky item service.

You can mix the recycling in your boxes. 
 

Free recycling collection

  • You will receive 2 black boxes initially but can have more if required
  • Black boxes are emptied every 2 weeks


From 2nd April 2012

Recycling will be collected weekly

Flats

Black boxes can be collected from bin stores. Some Management companies have erected shelving  to accomodate the black boxes.

Order a recycling box

Currently you can't order a recycling box online.

However you can email

to order a recycling box.
