Wokingham Borough Retail Study Refresh

About the study

Nathaniel Lichfield and Partners (NLP) was commissioned to update our existing retail study which was carried out in 2007 by Donaldsons. This update has been called the Wokingham Borough Retail Study Refresh.

What's in the study?

The 'Refresh Study' takes into account the changes to local planning policy brought about in the Wokingham Borough Core Strategy in addition to other factors such affecting retail such as the recession, the South-East Plan and Planning Policy Statement 4: Planning for Sustainable Economic Growth.

The key objectives of the Retail Study Refresh are:

To assess what impact housing and population growth planned for in the Core Strategy will have on towns and district centres

  • To help assess the boundaries of retail centres

  • To help review retailer demand

  • To provide the background evidence for the regeneration of Wokingham Town Centre and Lower Earley District Centre
