Minerals and Waste Local Development Scheme

What is a Local Development Scheme?

The Minerals and Waste Local Development Scheme (LDS) is a timetable which outlines the planning policies and strategies the Joint Strategic Planning Unit (JSPU) intends to produce over the next three years. This must be agreed by the Secretary of State in consultation with the Planning Inspectorate.

The LDS also outlines which Minerals and Waste Local Plan Policies are going to be saved until they are replaced by new policies and strategies in the Local Development Framework.  The LDS is reviewed annually.

Two Local Development Schemes

There are two LDSs for the Wokingham Borough, one for minerals and waste planning which covers the whole of Berkshire and one for the Wokingham Borough Local Development Framework.
