Local Model Validation Report

Background

Wokingham has a borough-wide transport model that represents average weekday traffic conditions in 2010 during the morning, evening and inter-peak periods. The original model dates from 2005. It was substantially updated in 2011 and further refined during 2012.

Model Forecast

The model has the forecast years 2017 and 2026 to represent development and infrastructure provision envisaged by the Local Development Framework, the adopted Core Strategy and the emerging development proposals at Strategic Development Locations in North and South Wokingham, Arborfield Garrison and South of M4.

The model, called the Wokingham Strategic Transport Model, comprises a highway model and a public transport model.  It also has a variable demand model.

The base year model has been developed in accordance with the Department for Transport's 'Transport Analysis Guidance and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges Volume 12.'

Wokingham Strategic Transport Model Local Model Validation Report

The Local Model Validation Report for the Wokingham Strategic Transport Model describes the work undertaken during 2012 to develop and refresh the model and the quality of validation achieved.

The transport model has an improved representation of highways in North Hampshire, Wokingham town centre, around Arborfield, at Coppid Beech roundabout and M4 Junction 10.
