Core Strategy Initial Options (June/July 2005)

How we produced the first or 'Initial Options' draft of the Core Strategy

The Council carried out a series of surveys before writing the Core Strategy 'Initial Options'. This included a 'Survey of New Homes' (results below as document LPS2), a survey of 'Community Aspirations' (LPS3), whilst we also also asked the public in October 2004 how we should develop our 'land use planning strategy' (LPS4).

Using the results from these surveys we produced some 'initial options' or 'initial ideas' for the Core Strategy and consulted on these from 15 June to 27 July 2005. The Initial Options is the first stage of producing a Core Strategy and its purpose is to identify the key issues in the Borough that need to be dealt with.
