Core Strategy - Development Plan Document (DPD)

What is the Core Strategy?

The Core Strategy sets out the long term 'spatial vision' for the Wokingham Borough up until March 2026. This includes policies and strategies to provide new housing, schools, roads, places to work and other services. The Core Strategy has the status of a Development Plan Document in the Local Development Framework and was adopted by the Council on 29 January 2010.

A copy of the Core Strategy

Attached at the right hand side of this page is a full copy of our adopted Core Strategy. You may also find useful our leaflet, 'Core Strategy - blueprint for the future' which provides a summary of the purpose and content of the Core Strategy.

The Core Strategy will replace some policies in the Local Plan

Some of the policies in the Core Strategy now replace those in the Wokingham District Local Plan. To find which ones these are, please refer to appendix one of the Core Strategy.
