The first formal procedure for preparing a neighbourhood development plan is the application for designation of a Neighbourhood Area. Shinfield Parish submitted a Neighbourhood Area application with a proposed boundary for the neighbourhood plan and a supporting statement on 19 June 2012. Consultation took place from 2 August to 13 September 2012. A number of comments were received about the Neighbourhood Area application. On 22 November 2012 Shinfield Parish was formally designated as a neighbourhood area. The Neighbourhood Area designation is available to view below.

What happens next?

The Parish Council has set up a steering group to lead and monitor the creation of the neighbourhood plan. They have also set up a number of focus groups, which will investigate and report on specific topics.
