The Council received 3,040 responses to the Consultation on the issues and options stage of the Site Allocations DPD. Consultation took place during September and October 2006 when the Council released information about the sites put forward to it for development in the period to 2026.

Also released were:

  • a sustainability appraisal of each site
  • background information on potential settlement boundaries and
  • a study of the undeveloped gaps between settlements

Of the comments received 2,600 were in the form of a standard letter from 6 Residents Associations in Wokingham town.

How the consultation responses were used

The Council made no comment on the views expressed at this stage of consultation. However it released a summary of what was said together with schedules recording all the comments made. This was considered in the preparation of options for development in the Core Strategy.

About the consultation reports

The reports of consultation are set out below. The responses on individual sites are set out as separate schedules for each parish or town in the District. These are listed in alphabetical order. Where a large number of responses were received, the parish based schedules are further sub divided to aid downloading of the material.  Document LPS10 is a short summary of the views expressed on each topic and includes a list of further sites submitted to the Council during the consultation period.
