Local Development Scheme (LDS)

What is a Local Development Scheme?

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is a timetable which outlines the planning policies and strategies the Council intends to produce over the next three years. This must be agreed by the Secretary of State in consultation with the Planning Inspectorate.

The LDS also outlines which Local Plan Policies are going to be saved until they are replaced by new policies and strategies in the Local Development Framework.  The LDS is reviewed annually.

Two Local Development Schemes

The Council produces two LDSs, one for general planning in Wokingham Borough and a one covering the whole of Berkshire for minerals and waste. The minerals and waste LDS is available to view on the minerals and waste page.
