The purpose of the study
Levvel were appointed by Wokingham Borough Council to undertake an Affordable Housing Viability Study. This has helped us to formulate policies for affordable housing in our Local Development Framework.
The objectives of the Affordable Housing Viability Study were:

To assess the impact on economic viability of options for affordable housing policy with combinations of thresholds, quotas, tenure mixes and grant assumptions;

To provide a robust evidence base in order to support preparation of the Core Strategy, other LDF documents and any other planning policy documents relating to affordable housing.
The study also required an assessment of the costs and financial implications of house building in the Borough, including consideration of the Borough Council’s requirements for s106 contributions.
