Adopted Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document

The Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) supports the Council's policy in the Wokingham Borough Core Strategy (policy CP5) for delivering affordable housing. This includes further information on:

• The requirement of affordable homes provision as part of residential and commercial developments
• The design, distribution and phasing of affordable housing
• Types and sizes of affordable homes
• Financial considerations in delivering affordable housing

The Council has prepared an update of the Affordable Housing SPD to accommodate the changes in guidance following publication of the National Planning Policy Framework and Submission of the Managing Development Delivery Development Plan Document (MDD DPD) to the Secretary of State.  Once adopted, the SPD will provide guidance on the interpretation of the requirements in respect of amount, type and size of affordable housing to be provided in accordance with the polices in the Adopted Core Strategy.

Representations are invited on the draft SPD document, available on this page.  Representations may be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the adoption of the SPD. All representations should be sent either in writing to Community Infrastructure Team, Wokingham Borough Council, Civic Offices, Shute End, Wokingham RG40 1WN or by email to community.infrastructure@wokingham.gov.uk.  Only representations that arrive at the Council’s specified address within the six week period commencing 4th April and ending at 5pm on 16th May 2013 may be considered as of right.
