Latest Flood Risk update

February 2012:

We have published the Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (2012) for Wokingham Borough.

The SFRA 2012 takes account of the latest flood risk information and any updates to policy and guidance since the previous SFRA (July 2007).

Past flood risk updates

June 2011

We published the Wokingham Borough Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment in June 2011.

The aim of the PFRA is to provide an assessment of local flood risk across Wokingham Borough, taking into account past floods and potential consequences of future floods. It includes flood risk from surface water runoff, groundwater and ordinary watercourses (including lakes and ponds). The PFRA does not address flooding from designated Main Rivers unless there are interactions with local sources of risk.

October 2007

Following the severe floods which occurred in July 2007, we produced an additional map for the Wokingham Borough Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (2007). Map 4.1 titled ‘Flooding Occurrence in July 2007 – not in Environment Agency - EA - flood zones’ this was based on calls for assistance received by the Council in July 2007. These calls were either for Category 1 - Houses and/or Category 2 - Garages flood occurrences not in the EA Flood Zones. However, the source of flooding is unavailable.

We made some presentational amendments to all the maps in the SFRA. The content of the maps and the whole SFRA July 2007 document did not change. Further information can be found in the document titled ‘SFRA Addendum October 2007’.

July 2007
