The Employment Land Audit was commissioned by the Council in December 2004 to help guide its policies within the Wokingham Borough Local Development Framework. A copy of the audit is attached at the bottom of this page.
Objectives of the study
The broad objectives of the study was to:

Forecast how much employment land would be needed for both the next 5 years and the next 10 years;

Assess the employment land that already exists, both in terms of quantity and quality;

Look at where more or different employment land is needed, and alternatively where there is scope for giving over employment sites to other uses e.g. housing.
The study looked at these objectives within the context of the following:

Use of space within business parks, industrial estates and town centre offices;

Use of farm buildings for employment (ie, Use Class B-space) provision;
-
Required mix of space, particularly space for start-up business units; and
-
Potential for locating a science park in Wokingham district.
