Infrastructure Delivery and Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)

About the Supplementary Planning Document

The Infrastructure Delivery and Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been written to accompany the masterplans for the four Strategic Development Locations. The SPD sets out the necessary infrastructure that will be needed to deliver the masterplans as well as the phasing and funding of this.

Planning Obligations

The Infrastructure Delivery and Contributions SPD also deals with planning obligations which will ensure the masterplans are delivered in a sustainable way.

Planning obligations are legal agreements that can:

  • Secure land for various purposes such as requiring land to be used in a particular way
  • Can require specific operations on land
  • Deliver infrastructure such as roads, buildings and services
  • Be a sum paid to the local authority for the purpose of providing necessary infrastructure or services

Strategic Development Locations

Strategic Development Locations (SDLs) are areas within the Wokingham Borough that have been identified as being able to accommodate new development in the Borough, sustainably.

The SDLs were formally allocated in the adopted Wokingham Borough Core Strategy - policies CP18 - CP21.

Please see the links below for further detailed information on the SDLs and the Masterplans that have been written to ensure high quality development within these.
