The Council is undertaking a six week statutory consultation on the draft options for the Managing Development Delivery Development Plan Document (MDD DPD). The consultation will run from the 15 June to midnight on 27 July 2011.
The MDD DPD will be the borough’s second development plan document and will provide a greater level of detail about how the vision in the borough’s adopted Core Strategy will be delivered in practice. Before the MDD DPD is produced the Council needs to consider and consult on options and alternatives to help develop the document.
The Council is seeking views on a range of issues including:
-
development management policies on areas such as character and heritage and sustainable development;
-
the setting of settlement boundaries (development limits) around the borough's settlements and town and village centres.
It also seeks comments on the criteria that should be applied when selecting housing sites, outside of Strategic Development Locations, to meet the Borough's housing requirement until 2026.
A list of all sites that have been put forward can be viewed in Appendix 7 of the draft Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA). This stage of the MDD DPD does not identify which sites the Council may allocate for development as this will be decided following the outcome of this consultation.
The consultation document is accompanied by a draft Habitat Regulations Assessment, a draft Sustainability Appraisal (incorporating a Strategic Environmental Assessment) on the suggested options and alternative options and an initial Sustainability Appraisal of the sites put forward. The Council is also seeking views on these documents.
Send your consultation comments between 15 June to midnight on 27 July 2011
