How to apply

The easiest way to submit an application is online via the Planning Portal:

Submit planning application

You can complete the application form, attach supporting documents and pay fees all online.

You can also use the Planning Portal to print the application forms through the paper form chooser. Then send all supporting documents directly to us by post including 2 copies of every document.

In most cases there is a fee for an application. This can be complex to calculate but the correct fee must accompany your application. You can calculate this yourself by using the  Planning Portal website's online fee calculator or, alternatively, contact our planning team to find out more.

The Government has agreed to raise planning fees from 17 January 2018. Further information is available on the Planning Portal website's fee page.

What supporting information is needed

All applications require additional information including plans or surveys. To find out more visit  planning application checklist.
