Where can we put dog waste?
Leave dog waste in any council-owned litter bin or bag it, take it home and put it in your own bin. Dog waste doesn't need to be separated from normal waste.
Who removes dead animals from the road and how long does it take?
We remove dead animals that are the size of cats or larger which are causing a hazard on roads. Call or email Wokingham Direct to report a dead animal.

What health and safety information will I need to provide if I want to book an event?
If you are booking an event you will be asked for the following information:
- Public Liability Insurance - minimum of £5 million and £10 million for Firework Events
- Employers Liability Insurance - only applicable if you employ people who use our facilities and / or land
- Engineer Certificates for all equipment if you are holding a fair / circus on Council land
- Risk Assessment / s to ensure that all the relevant hazards related to your activity have been considered and all risks have been removed or mitigated - Risk Assessments from Firework display providers must include evidence of testing equipment or systems used to demonstrate that no disruption may occur which will result in injury

Do you collect grass cuttings?
No. The grass cuttings eventually break down to act as a compost for the soil.
Why are there patches of grass which look they’ve been missed?
This is usually because they have had daffodils or other bulbs growing underneath. The grass is not cut until they have fully withered, which will normally be done by the end of June.

I have a hedge that needs cutting back along my fenceline, who do I contact?
The Parks and Open Spaces Team will carry out the work (if we're responsible for maintaining the area.) Email requests to wokinghamdirect@wokingham.gov.uk
