Free bus passes for disabled people

You can get a disabled person's bus pass if you live in the Wokingham borough any of the below applies to you:

  • Blind or partially sighted
  • Profoundly or severely deaf
  • Without speech
  • Have a disability or injury that has a long-term affect on your ability to walk
  • Have no arms or can't use both your arms
  • Have a learning disability including a big impairment to intelligence or social function
  • Can't drive for medical reasons. This doesn't include reasons relating to persistent misuse of drugs or alcohol

The minimum age to apply for a disabled person's bus pass is 5 years.

  • Complete a concessionary fares application form (PDF document) 
  • Provide a passport sized photo
  • Send proof of your name, date of birth, address and any disability - e.g. driving licence, passport, utility bill, letter from doctor, letter from Department for Work and Pensions

If you come to our offices to apply you won't receive your bus pass straight away.

Free national off-peak bus pass

You can use your free bus pass on:

  • Any registered local bus service in England
  • From 9.30am to 11pm Monday to Friday
  • All day at weekends and bank holidays

Using the bus pass in Wokingham

You can use our bus pass on:

  • Any local bus service in Wokingham borough between 9am and 9.30am Monday to Friday
  • Our park and ride services - at Winnersh park and ride. You will need to buy a parking ticket, available from the bus driver.

You can apply for a companion travel pass if you care for a disabled person who can't travel alone. 

The companion travel pass allows 1 carer to travel for free at the same time as the disabled person.
