Details of consultation
Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation.
A large number of the response to the consultation that we received raised issue access for horse riders to phase 2 of the California Greenway. The Council can confirm that horse riders will have access to this section which will allow them to ride from Arborfield Garrison to Nine Mile Ride (and onwards to the bridleways on Warren Lane and White Horse Lane) without the need to ride for extended periods on the Nine Mile Ride itself.
The Council has acknowledged that despite using the largest specification kissing wickets available on phase 1 of the California Greenway that they have caused access issues for some users. Both the existing access arrangements on phase 1 and the access specifications that we will be using on phase 2 are currently under review and we hope to be able to resolve most of these issues when we commence construction of the phase 2 California Greenway.
Whilst we are currently working to install sensitive lighting scheme on phase 1 of the California Greenway in order to encourage Bohunt pupils in Finchampstead North to cycle to school, we do not plan to include lighting on the phase 2 California Greenway.
