Neighbourhood Services is a new way of working, where services in the Wokingham Borough are delivered within 6 neighbourhoods.
The benefits of neighbourhood working
Neighbourhood working will:
-
Improve service delivery through a better understanding of residents’ priorities and more effective joined up working with our partners.
-
Narrow the gap between our most disadvantaged neighbourhoods and the rest of the borough.
-
Empower residents to have a greater voice and influence over the key decisions which affect their lives.
-
Improve civic pride and the involvement of residents in cultural, leisure and community activities.
-
Engage with the Black and Minority Ethnic - BME - community and other community groups to ensure better access to public services and greater involvement in community activities.
