Neighbourhood Services is a new way of working, where services in the Wokingham Borough are delivered within 6 neighbourhoods.

The benefits of neighbourhood working

Neighbourhood working will:

  • Improve service delivery through a better understanding of residents’ priorities and more effective joined up working with our partners.

  • Narrow the gap between our most disadvantaged neighbourhoods and the rest of the borough.

  • Empower residents to have a greater voice and influence over the key decisions which affect their lives.

  • Improve civic pride and the involvement of residents in cultural, leisure and community activities.

  • Engage with the Black and Minority Ethnic - BME - community and other community groups to ensure better access to public services and greater involvement in community activities.
