Berkshire Record Office was established in 1948 to locate and preserve records relating to the county of Berkshire and its people, and to make them available for research to anyone who is interested in the county's past.

It is funded by Wokingham jointly with the 5 other unitary local authorities in Berkshire. The Office is managed by Reading Borough Council on behalf of the other authorities. West Berkshire Council is the authority responsible for the archive collections. 

Archival material, including historical records of:

  • People

  • Places

  • Events

 

in the Wokingham Borough, is kept at the Berkshire Record Office.
