Arts Galore

We will be running a two week craft course,  on creating a necklace from recycles material; this will also run for two weeks from February 22 at 1.30pm to 3.30pm. £10 charge plus the cost of materials.
There is also a weekly course on improving and advancing your Manga drawing skills with Red Garden Artists Group. This will run every Saturday throughout February until March 17 from 10.30am to 11.30am. Charge of £3.50 per session.

Literary Events

We have some fantastic authors visiting our libraries this month,
In Wargrave Novelist Roisin McAuley will be talking about her writing career on Wednesday February 8 at 8pm, £5 charge, please contact Wargrave Library on (0118) 940 4656 to book your place.
Joanna Trollope on Wednesday February 8, this event is fully booked but you maybe interested in booking to see Popular novelist Lesley Pearse who will be at Wokingham Library on Thursday March 22 at 8pm. £3 charge, please contact Wokingham Library on (0118) 978 1368 to book your place.
We will be hosting a Charles Dickens Evening at Wokingham Library to celebrate the bicenternary of the birth of Charles Dickens. There will be readings performed by members of Wokingham Theatre. £3 charge, please contact Wokingham Library on (0118) 978 1368 to book your place.

Animal fun this February half term at your local Wokingham Borough Library.

Come along to one of our Animal Senses Session and meet an array of different creatures. Other libraries will be hosting a Ferocious Wild Beasts story session throughout the half-term break.

Animal Senses

Animal Handling session, find out how the animal use there senses. For families with children aged 4 to 12 years old.£3 charge, please phone the relevant library to book your place.

Ferocious Wild Beasts Story and Craft Session

Come and hear the Ferocious Wild Beasts story and create some animals from the story. For families with children of all ages. £1 charge, Just drop in.

Learndirect

Learndirect are based in Wokingham Library and provide online courses, with most leading to qualifications. Courses are available in IT, maths, English and Work Skills many of which are free. There are some special offers running in January including a free IPOD shuffle for completing a maths course.  In addition Learndirect run a free UKonline session in Wokingham Library for those who want to get online for the first time.

Woodley Library – Extended opening hours!

Woodley Library is now open on Sundays from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

From March 5, Woodley Library will be changing its hours to the following:

VIP Group at Wokingham Library

Do you know anyone who has a visual impairment and loves discussing books? A book group for people with visual impairments meets regularly at Wokingham library to talk about best-sellers, classics and favourites.

Public Library Online - now available

We are offering eBooks to all our members for the first time. Our Public Library Online provides access to a range of fiction and non-fiction titles over the internet without the need for downloading - simply access the books using your existing computer or internet enabled mobile phone either in the library or remotely from home or elsewhere.
