Space Hop
Children will be invited to take a giant leap to the final frontier - space! Are you aged between 5 and 12? Then come and join the Summer Reading Challenge, running until September 18. It’s free to join. Your challenge is to read 6 books and you will receive a medal and a certificate. Come and sign up at any Wokingham Borough Library.
Who do you think you are?
If the latest series of ‘Who do you think you are?’ has sparked an interest in your own family history, why not pop down to Wokingham, Woodley or Lower Earley libraries to discover more using Ancestry.com. Berkshire Archaeological Display
There will be a display at Wokingham Library mounted by the Berkshire Archaeology Research Group, with particuar reference to their work within Wokingham Borough. The display will be on view in the Learning Zone at the library.
Art in the Library
This is a rolling programme of exhibitions that aims to bring art and the library closer together, and gives local artists, art students and crafts people the opportunity to exhibit. Currently on display is a selection of Jojo jewellery, based around art silver clay and silver smithing techniques. The work of painter and sculptor Richard Conway-Jones is also available to view. All libraries will be having a Space Hop Adventure Day with the science wizards, space crafts and book bouncing. For families with children aged 5 to 12 year-old. There is a charge for some of the sessions, Please check out our events page for details of your nearest Space Hop Adventure Day.
