Sports strategy 2006-2016
Our Sport, Leisure and Recreation Strategy 2006-2016 aims to provide opportunities for all of our residents, young and old, to participate in sport and leisure. Our aim is to give you a breadth of choices to enjoy the facilities that the Wokingham Borough can offer.
We are working with a number of partners to improve the quality on offer in the Borough.
This Strategy has been written to reflect a balanced but informed view of the wide variety of interests and opinions that exist across sport, leisure and recreation. It has involved a significant amount of consultation with a cross section of the community involved in sport, leisure and recreation.
Objectives
The objectives of the strategy project are to:
- Establish a Borough-wide framework for the well-being development of sport, leisure and recreation for the residents of Wokingham Borough
- Help define the furture roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in the development of sport, leisure and recreation opportunities in Wokingham
- Provide co-ordination to ensure that all interests in the Borough benefit fully from national and regional initiatives, including funding opportunities
