Playworker employment opportunities

A Playworker is someone who:

  • Can understand and identify when a child needs their support
  • Is able to assist children in making their ideas come true
  • Is able to provide endless opportunities
  • Is able to release control allowing the child to learn through their experiences
  • Has the energy to keep up with a child enthusiasm and demands
  • Has the child’s best interests in mind
  • Is able to come out of their comfort zone to enable the child to try new experiences

 

Why become a Playworker? 

Becoming a Playworker enables you to make a significant contribution to a child’s development, help them to be independent, learn about life, developing social skills and make friends. Supporting them to gain skills that will enable to meet future challenges in life.

How do I become a Playworker?

Simply contact us. Opportunities exist during term time as a: 

  • Volunteer in school during playtime
  • Volunteer at Breakfast and after school clubs
  • Paid employment at after school clubs

 

...and during the school holidays as a:

  • Volunteer at one of the Boroughs Open and Closed access playscheme
  • Volunteer at one of the other playschems within the Borough
  • Paid employment at one of the Boroughs Open and Closed access playscheme
  • Paid employment at one of the other holiday playschemes within the Borough

 

Try before you commit

The best advice is to volunteer at a setting to ensure it is the type of work for you before embarking on part or full time employment.
