Council housing improvements and repairs

If you live in our Council housing you must report all requirements for repairs as soon as possible. Telephone the freephone number on 0800 515287 or email wbchelpdesk@contracttradingservices.co.uk. Please refer to your Tenants' Handbook, section 4 to check whose responsibility the repair is before requesting a repair.
 
For gas leaks at anytime, contact Transco immediately by telephoning 0800 111999.
 
For out of office hours emergency repairs, please telephone 0800 212111. This service is for real emergencies only, such as total electrical failure, no heating in winter or flooding. Whenever you report a problem, please give us as much detail as you can.  
 
Please tell us:
 
  • Exactly where and what the fault is
  • When the contractors can get in to repair the fault
  • Where we can contact you during working hours, giving a phone number if possible
 
When you report a problem, we will either arrange access for a tradesperson to call or tell a contractor to contact you to arrange an am or pm appointment.
 
If the repair is complicated, we may want to inspect the fault first before we send out a contractor.
 
How long will you have to wait?
 
We realise how important it is to provide you with an efficient repairs service and so we aim to carry out repairs within a certain time.
 
We have different response times depending on the type of work:
 
  • Emergencies within 24 hours
  • Urgent between 3-7 working days
  • Non-urgent within 20 working days
  • Extremely serious repairs are given a 4-hour response time
 
Remember before you let anyone into your home, please ask to see their identification.
 
After the work is completed
 
When a repair is done, you should sign the contractor’s worksheet. Complete and return the pre-paid Tenant Response Card which was sent to you asking whether you are satisfied with the repair and the tradesman's conduct.
 
If you are not satisfied with any of the repairs we have done, you can either telephone our repairs helpdesk on 0800 515287 or write to the Maintenance Manager at Tenant Services.
