Breaks during the day
Sit-in services at your home can be provided by Crossroads, a registered charity supporting carers.
Also, day care services are available at council-owned residential homes for older people such as Fosters in Woodley and Suffolk Lodge in Wokingham.
Other places offering services include:
- Westmead Resource Centre in Wokingham for people with physical disabilities.
- Wade, a centre for older people to meet and have lunch in Wokingham.
- Woodley Age Concern, based in South Lake Crescent, Woodley.
- Pinehaven in Finchampstead and Lady Elizabeth Day Centre in Twyford both offer activities to older people and people with a diagnosis of Dementia.
- The MS Care Centre in Reading offers activities and support to people with a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.
- The Indian Day Centre and the Pakistani Day Centre, both in Reading, offer support and activities/cultural needs to older people.
