Information for people with mental health problems

If you think you may need care services, you are entitled to ask for an assessment of needs.

With your consent, someone else can ask on your behalf. Carers of vulnerable people are also entitled to have an assessment of their own needs if they ask. Community Care Services can tell you whether you are eligible for services.

For more details see our eligibility criteria web page and our Putting People First page.

Care and support services

We respond to all requests for services as soon as possible.

Highest priority for services goes to people who are:

  • At immediate risk or in danger or

  • Need support from others several times a day or

  • Whose main carer can no longer support them
