Linkup disclaimer for using the database
The Linkup database includes links to third party internet websites which are controlled and maintained by others. These links are included solely for the convenience of users and do not constitute any endorsement by the providers of the sites linked or referred to.
We would strongly advise that before you use any of the services listed on this website, you check the following:
- Are they accredited or registered with any professional body? - like the CSCI - Commision for Social Care Inspection
- Have they any published service standards?
- Is there an easily accessible complaints procedure?
- If you have to pay for something, what does the cost cover?
- What checks are done on staff and volunteers? - references taken up, Criminal Record Bureau Checks and Protection of Vulnerable Adults Scheme
- Can you speak to someone who has already used the service?
- Are the premises accessible?
- If the service requires you to sign a contract, the contract should include what you and the service expect of each other - before you sign the contract, make sure you understand everything, if in doubt contact the Citizen's Advice Bureau
