How to remove your web page history
Depending on the web browser you are using the following will clear quick-access history of pages and images viewed. Please note that when you have cleared history by this method, history of all websites viewed will be removed too.
This method of removing history of web pages viewed is not a guarantee that 100% of all history is removed, and a computer expert may still be able to retrieve certain data.
Netscape
1. Pull down ‘Edit’ menu and select ‘Preferences’.
2. Click on ‘Navigator’ on choose 'Clear History'.
3. Click on ‘Advanced’ then select ‘Cache’.
4. Click on ‘Clear Disk Cache’.
On older versions of Netscape:
1. Pull down ‘Options’ menu.
2. Select ‘Network Options’, Select ‘Cache’.
3. Click on ‘Clear Disk Cache’.
Internet Explorer
1. Pull down ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Internet Options’.
2. On ‘General’ page, under ‘Temporary Internet Files’, click on ‘Delete Files’.
3. Under ‘History’ click on ‘Clear History.’
AOL
1. Pull down the ‘Members’ menu and select ‘Preferences’.
2. Click on ‘WWW’ icon. Then select ‘Advanced’.
3. Purge Cache.
This information may not completely hide your tracks. Many browser types have features that display recently visited sites.
The safest places to browse the internet
The safest way to find information on the internet would be at a local library, a friend's house, or at work.
