It's Working - Supported Employment
Supported employment is a way of enabling job seekers with a disability, who need that extra assistance, to succeed in work.
What we ask is that:
- They are hired and paid by an employer
- They receive full employee entitlements
- The job meets the employee's aspirations for employment
- The work meets the employer's requirements
- Both the employee and employer receive help from 'It's Working' to achieve and maintain success
What kind of work?
All areas such as office work, gardening, supermarkets, factories, leisure centres, nursing homes, leaflet delivery, computer data entry.
How much work?
Anything from a few hours to full time employment.
We will make sure:
- The job coach from 'It's Working' assesses an employer's requirements
- The job seekers are matched to the job
- The job seekers are supported through the interview and/or work trial
- There will be on the job training and support by the job coach, at no cost to the employer. The on-going support fades when the job seeker becomes a valued and effective employee
- We maintain long term relationships with the employer to ensure continued effectiveness of the employee
Employer's challenge
