We actively seek to consult with disabled people of the Borough, hence the Wokingham Disability and Sensory Needs Partnership Board was launched on the 9 June 2005.

In 2007 the name was changed to the Wokingham Ability Partnership with the tag line -  for people with

physical and sensory needs.  This new title aims to reflect a more positive image of disability than the previous quite lengthy title allowed.

Wokingham Ability Partnership is presently working towards independent status from Wokingham Borough Council but will continue to work closely with the council to ensure disabled people are fully involved, consulted and listened to with regard to their needs.

Aims

Wokingham Ability Partnership aims to raise the profile of services for people with physical and sensory disabilities and develop and improve these services in line with the needs of local people.

Members

Members of the Wokingham Ability Partnership include service users, carers, representatives from voluntary organisations, Wokingham Borough Council - Elected Members and officers - and Wokingham NHS Primary Care Trust.

Meetings

These are usually held at the Crescent Centre, Lower Earley which is a fully accessible venue.
