Hearing Loops

hearing loop logo

We have installed a number of aids to communication - hearing loops - throughout our offices. The aim is to improve communication facilities for those who are hard of hearing. The use of a hearing loop system may be considered a reasonable adjustment for staff to make when meeting the needs of deaf or hard of hearing staff and visitors.

Permanent loops

These are permanently wired systems. If they are being used in meetings or seminars they may need to be booked in advance to ensure the right equipment is in place. Those located at reception desks are permanently switched on.

The table below shows the location of hearing loops in our buildings:

Temporary loops

These are used in 1 to 1 meetings. They are hand-held and can easily be moved into a small interview room or office to help further reduce background noise. The table below shows the location of temporary loops in our buildings:

The Deaf Services Team at Wellington House have a portable loop system available. This system is useful for larger groups using rooms that don't have a permanent loop already fitted.
